Individual DLC

Little Nightmares is a platforming horror title that pits players against frightening creatures in a forbidding nightmarescape. It was recently offered on Steam for free, leading many players to encounter its horrors for the first time.

The protagonist of Little Nightmares is Six, and Six is very much on the vulnerable end of the spectrum in the game's world. Many creatures will end Six in an instant, and the goal is mostly to escape. This trend starts very early in the game when players are tasked with getting Six out of a room filled with giant leeches, so here's a quick guide to escaping the leech room.

Long before worrying about how to get to the ending (or endings) of Little Nightmares, players will make their way through a wooden room. While trying to get to the other side, the floor will fall away, dumping players into an uncomfortably dark room. Turning on Six's lighter reveals a big puddle of dark, oily liquid, which Six's raincoat has become soaked in. Far more pressing, however, are the multiple leeches that begin hissing their way towards Six immediately afterwards. Be warned, should any of the leeches so much as brush Six's leg, it's instant death and starting the room over.

One of the most important things to know about Six is that she's not particularly fast, especially in the leech room. If Six takes her time walking across the room, the leeches will get her pretty fast. It's also important to note that even though the leeches seem to wake up when the lighter gets switched on, this is not actually the case. They'll wake up no matter what, so keep the lighter on whenever possible to make sure the path to take is clear.

Since walking is too slow, Six must jump across the room. There are areas that are clear of leeches, although they will close in on Six once she lands there. Aim carefully and jump quickly, landing in the open areas illuminated by the lighter. Get caught and it'll become clear why Little Nightmares is one of the best horror games of its time.

At the far right of the room is a wall, and one section of it doesn't look right. Go to this section and push to push it out and create a bridge. The bridge leads out of the leech room, allowing players to take a breather, then get back to the game. Time to keep going and hunting for Six's special masks.
